I went to take the "family" Bretram 28 for a sail.I arrived by train walked down the steep hill to the port looking as i went at the bay of Cannes,I was looking forward to meeting friends on the islands,i could see boats under motor? sail
Got down to the port went up to the capitanerie to ask the WC & shower code?In winter its good for a week sometimes more the capitain was in a very good mood offered me a coffee
I went along to the boat took the covers off put them away then back aboard i got the hose out cleaned her off.
I went below where i found a very very large notice saying "Father or any other person autherised by the aforesaid is forbidden to use any other method of heating other than the webesto system fitted to this craft" "The water tanks are to be filled with fresh tap water"
So it is to be a father of children that have lived with altogether aboard a boat the said farther haveing once drunk G&Ts ran the old Bertram 26 on the rocks hence my total povety today haveing had to replace it children!!
Last year i went to see some freinds in Elba there i was offered free wine!i took 300 liters 240 in the water tanks and the rest in cans before pumped the taks out my daughter came down with a girl freind i tried to explain but she diddent listen i was banished from the port for that weekend.After her "coffee" i got a phone call she dident think much of my storage & when i asked if she could pour some olive oil in the tank-----------Girls
Looking forward to seeing everyone again i checked the engine oil switched on tapped the fule indicator,seemed to be stuck near empty??How many times have i told them to fill the tanks before winter in fact to keep them full always??
Started the engines a pair of 200hp volvo tamd diesels the batteries were at least full!
Left with the engins sounding wonderful went to fill the tank 800liters later or 1000€ i felt in need of a drink i went below and found another large notice " Fathers are forbidden from drinking GIN or any other beverage with an alcohol content of 15 degrees or more!
I opened a bottle of burgundy (its a wine that travels and keeps a good solid wine)Shocked i drank to my bank that was paying for this short break!As i was at the fule berth i moved along and went off to get some supplies.
I collected the meat form the cafe they kept it in the fridge for me then the fish that aboard i went along to Cannes where i asked about my place?They said i had to move i couldent stay where i was "in case the person came back" shes on the islands i said,
Cannes is a good port the powers that be are very understanding though not when you need a place to go shopping???There isent anywhere,they become angry as they just dont have a place allplaces have been given to boats over 25M or "very fat"
Money they said!I said i havent any.They said Oh!Then good bye?? I asked if it was fair?They said yes! I said but France is giveing millions to the muslims to destroy and kill us can the prefect just wave my so small facture? NO oh well
The offered me a glass of champagne?Well they get it from the rich and so we drank a glass and a g glass two bottles!We drank to the rich!
Tanks full cat food on board and fish in the fridge i se sail for the islands the Volvos burbeled away as i came past the bouy i opend the throttles came up on plane and according to the Garmin GPS i crossed the streights at 24 knots, i hoped i hadent emptied the tank?But no the reading was full
I wondered if i should delair the boat mine??NO anyone that has a daughter and a son its not worth it Daughters are woman!
I dident fill the tanks with anything '(to much weight)
This week im goeing to Corsica then Elba to stock up and look for a new boat
We had a WONDERFUL evening a big fire fresh bread baked fish grilled meat salad cabbage soup(very very good)
Where will i find 1000€? After my trip perhaps ill have to sk the EEC for help?I wonder just how much people without a passport get?I soon have to renew mine?
