Chi Harbour Conservancy moorings available

The ones opposite Northerney Marina are in a particular good location.
Pay for a 2 m rubber dinghy berth at MDL and then use the Marina car park, washing room/ bathroom facilities for easy access, there is always an empty berth that you can sneak onto for loading up early morning or filling the water tank after dark.

Maybe the best value on the South coast !

Apart from the fact that there are thieves about... I used to keep Peregrine there (in fact she was first launched at Northney) I had three break-ins in two years and gave up and moved to Fareham where so far I have been lucky....

There have been a few thefts from boats in in Portsmouth recently. Over the last year particularly Fareham where there have been more than than the whole of Chichester Harbour..... I guess as you say you've been lucky.

Probably looking at sparked for fuel& water. Dunno about northney but I thinks it's water only. Water available at the conservancy pontoon off the mill pond wall and both water & fuel in ems yacht basin.

Tbh though we usually get water whilst we're away as we tend to visit a marina.

Credit Crunch?

Got the same email this afternoon.

There's clearly been a massive drop-out rate in swinging moorings this year.

A bit naughty I know, but I share the boat with a mate and we both applied for a mooring with Chi Conservancy for the same boat under different names! Both of us were told, "Don't hold your breath this year, maybe next year" when we applied in November. Imagine our shock when we got offered two different moorings before Christmas!

As it happens, because the chances looked pretty grim, I also applied at our sailing club (ESC) and, despite similar predictions of short supply, have been offered and taken one there. (almost 1/3 of the price too).

Can't help but think that the credit crunch has bitten a few plus those fed up with scrotes nicking their gear that have migrated to pontoon dwelling has freed up far more moorings than predicted.

Northney have diesel.

PS

You and Galadriel seam to have missed me, thanks guys , brings a lump to my throat ;)
You must have missed my contributions as dacarak (new forum changed my name not me). Seeing as dacarak mingled in as a raggie almost unnoticed and accepted as a valued contributor to this forum any chance DAKA can be given a chance, I have spent far more time on the water under sail than power last year.:)

Moorings in Itchenor Reach

Worth phoning the office, I gave up my retained mooring option this year between the vistors pontoon and Marinas and guess I will not be the only one.
