Cherbourg ?

There's a brewpub on the way to the town, or there was two yrs ago. There are various bistros/restaurants along the dock.

Le Grand Gousier is good, Café de Paris also.

Use to be a super little place called La Cendree (roughly the cinders) in passage Digard, but closed and gone. It was v French, no-one spoke English (SWMBO was called on to translate menu on odd occasions), cheap, good and not intended for tourists etc. I know this is of no help but if anyone ever finds something similar PM me. Please.

La Cale is very good - eaten there a few times. Not far from the marina, and good food. The even have an English speaking waiter. Easily found via google, although the trip advisor reviews are bit mixed.....
