Just doing the passage plan as we hope to do this in one go. Is it best to go North of South of Guernsey/Herm etc. ?

South seems most direct route, but tide seems to be more favourable going north ie. with you in the direction of travel for more of the time.

Thanks
Richard

Need to know estimated cruising speed of your boat and the date/s etc. for tide strengths.
You can, if you wish, e-mail me off list at r.egerton@tiscali.co.uk with as much info. as poss., and I'll run it through neptune passage planner for you...
Cheers Bob E..

gentle warning...

best to use a PM rather than a post if you want to give your email address. there are search engines out there trawling the web for addresses to add to spam lists or worse!

as for the passage- it depends on your timing, if you can carry a tide through the alderney race then on down throuth the big russel you'll have a quick passage.

Thanks for the warning Chris..... I'll try to delete my previous message..
I would basically agree about the Alderney Race and the Big Russel..
