Ken is Boat Party Leader.
Does Ken do the Passage Plan and do the "Routine Traffic" routine or do we all do our own. There are 11 boats - the airwaves could be clogged to the point of breakdown - especially when we all check that our radios are working.
AND ANOTHER THING
Best maintain radio silence - if Jonny Frog finds were on our way he may tell the Boches and then its D-Day all over again.

Anyway - really looking forward to it. Just finishing off here and then I can get away. See you all in the morning. Not a bad forecast for the weekend.

No worries, the Pathfinder cruise the week before will have alerted all the relevant authorities on your behalf to ensure a military 'welcome' event as you approach.

Why not take him out to mid channel and sit there for week .. throw some net curtain over the boat and say you're lost in fog.. ask him to do the nav so he stays inside/down below.. (this should be quite easy for Claysie due to his patio sailing tendencies).. wait for the rest of the forumites to appear, pull off the net curtain and low and behold you can flatter Claysie by admiring his nav skills and cause no offence to his demented state, re his date confusion../forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ah think he's must hae spent some time inside the same bottle as yon Forbsie and fell intae the same time warp. Either that or he's maybe still using last years Barraland Calander.

Your PM didn't mention ordnance. What should I bring for the Pathfinder cruise, bearing in mind I'm joining by ferry and may be searched.

Are we going on a covert operation, or should we be prepared to fight our way out?

When is this Cherburg trip? Can I tag along with my noisy stinky MoBo and encircle you with wash mid-channel and then speed off Southbound and get to Cherburg 5 hours before everyone else?

don't be silly brendan. Zefender tracks his ancestors to the Emerald Isle, so "military" means a lot of dancing.... er or of course, a limpet mine.

Nope ,you cannot come unless you put up a huge mast and hang all SWMBO washing on it as only propulsive force.

Sorry to be so curt, but this is a raggie only outing. and if you try to tag along you will be boarded and sunk /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Best maintain radio silence

err! lots of dancing on deck then. As another son of the Emerald Isle.... I'll be ducking below deck to check the charts!

There's a rather nice website which gives details of [bang!] type explosives which would put a decent hole in frenchie boats

While we're dancing the night away, should we allow the Moose to attend? I could blag a lift rather than take the boring ferry. Once he's there we could sink him? or is that unhospitable? If the Moose took Froggie with him, I'd feel a lot less guilty about sinking them

OoH! Moosie's bottled out, scared off by threats of boarding and sinking in Cherbourg - something about having to fly off to exotic locations rather than associate himself with smelly raggies /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Tut, tut. Excuses, excuses. Just because I'm going raggie, you don't want to talk to me anymore. OK. I'll forgive you just this once.

Tell you what, hold the Froggie underwater till he drowns, and we'll be best mates again [Grin]

Oh 'ek I thought he was with you... I dunno the Channel.. foreign waters to me.. trust you've scouted all the local "hostelleries"... any bordellos in Cherbourg?.. 'cus you could see if he's trying to save any fallen wimin.. you know sort of "only man who could save me was son of preacher man".. type scenario.. he might need you to extricate him from a situation/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Looks like you're getting barbequed moose for brekkies/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Best maintain radio silence

This won't be a conventional military campaign. We'll be employing primarily pschyops techniques to ensure that everyone is terrified (and slightly trigger happy) when the late cruise arrives a week afterwards. Threats of weapons of mass destruction, principally in the form of Glen Rosa's holding tank, should be enough, I'd have thought. This could get very messy though. Bring false beard, just in case.

What's critical is that we manage to find our way back home before the whole thing explodes into an horrific diplomatic incident. To this end, I've stocked up on supplies of Andrex and on the outward trip, will be detailing a crew member to tear off and throw overboard a sheet every 100 metres or so. That way, we should be able to re-trace our passage..
