Parahandy, I doubt your fishfinder will do any good, but get a good quality Blair spoon on the end of yer line and you are in with a good shout.
I had my first ever spinger 10lb, just below the weir at the top end of Catholes and Pitlochry beat in feb 04.
Apart from when I bought Hummingbird, that was one of the proudest days of my life, and also one of the coldest.
Anyone know the gillie Geordie Stewert from Stanly? he is one hell of a character.
I also had an 18lb springer on the East Haugh beat of the Tummel the following year, which took 20 min to land.
