I checked into the Faroe Islands at Vagur and had my passport stamped by the friendly policemen who visited my boat in the harbour…. Does anybody know the process for checking out ???

I’m currently in Torshavn and will be leaving towards the end of the week back to Scotland.

Find another friendly policeman to stamp your passport 'out' I would suspect. It doesn't seem any electronic record was made from your comments, but if your passport was checked sometime in the future in the EU there might be problems.

When last in Norway we checked in and out at the local police stations. From your checking in experience I suggest you ask at the police station. If they don't do it they should know where you need to go.

We checked out by going to the port authority office on the pier. Were advised by one of the sailing club members this was the easiest way.

I arranged to check out of through port control at Torshaven a couple of years ago. We met in their control tower like office which must be one of the worlds greatest office views. The telephone number was posted on the information boards and the shore heads.
