Recently there was a thread extolling the virtues of mini digital thermometers, of course I had to buy some and then find a use for them.
One in the boat fridge, one in the main cabin, one as yet unallocated.
I made little oak frames out of scrap wood.
At the same time I bought 3 digital voltmeters for £1.20 each, one for each battery.
I went to Maplin to buy a box to house them but on the way had to visit Poundland. Their cycle puncture repair kits come in a box exactly the right size to take up to four meters and even have the right size cut outs, [48 x 28.6mm] marked on the lid.
Now to find a use for the stuff that was in the box. :)

It is amazing what you can find if you invest the time looking.

I mounted a new switch panel on a plastic box from B&Q. Perfect size, but I had to cut holes but the best thing about it is it just flips open to get access to the gubbins - no screw driver required. It is quite a slim profile and is a perfect size. My boat doesn't recognise the word 'flush' so it also looks good.
