cheapest public transport channel islands or france to uk

planning to leave our boat in either the channel islands or france and swap crew - 5 of us to get home from boat and trying to work out best way-seems ferry companies won't allow same car to go both ways on day return with different crew and condor won't allow different passengers to use inbound and outbound legs of day return tickets - anyone found good solution- price to fly from channel islands to home no more than foot passenger on condor ferry but £270 one way for 2 adults and 3 children a bit of a blow!

Doing exactly the same thing. Flying from Dinard (near St Malo) to Stanstead for 40 euros a head with Ryanair.

It's been a while but day returns (one for each way) used to work well - but pay cash otherwise the ferry company may try and hang the full fare on your credit card when you don't turn up for the return leg.

is quite right. I don't think you're likely to get away changing the number. IMHO it's a rip-off; but if those are the T&Cs, afraid you either accept them or decline.
