I've had so many troubles with my Eberspacher D4WSC that rather than attempt to repair it I thought might be able to get a cheaper slot in replacement. I was wondering if there some models which could make use of my existing externals such as exhaust, electric harness, timer, fuel lines and maybe even water pump. So far I have looked at;

Hydronic II-H 12v 5kw D5Z-H
Hydronic D4WSC bare with no water pump
Hydronic D5WSC

Aside from the D4WSC I'm not sure if these are slot in replacements or if I will need to get all new fuels lines, electricals, exhaust, timers, etc.

Cost is a big factor here. Cash is pretty tight.

Looking back at your previous posts about this, and bearing in mind cash is tight, surely it would be cheaper to get your existing unit checked out? If the verdict is that it needs lots of expensive new parts, maybe replace the whole thing. But just replacing it for the sake of it seems a costly route to go down.

As far as I can tell, getting the unit checked out is quite pricey as Eberspacher repairmen tend to be rather rare and costly. If it ends up the unit is too old, I've added the extra cost of having someone look at it.

I think you'd find it wouldn't be a big job to diagnose what's wrong. There are lots of Eberspacher repairers, if you choose a commercial rather than marine dealer they'll probably be cheaper - I use Colchester Fuel Injection. It's unlikely your heater will be too old to repair, there are spares still available for 20-25 year old heaters.
