I cannot afford nor justify the cost of a 14" outdoor viewable multifunction display like the Raymarine E series but have found this refurbed Dell Lattitude XFR on ebay for £799 - a fraction of the cost of a similar sized marine multifunction display

I already have (& recommend) the Belfield Chartplotter (with all UK raster charts) and Polarview with all UK vector charts and the other use was to display the view ahead from a pulpit mounted wifi camera so I can repose in the cockpit and watch the view ahead of the dolphins and Basking sharks playing in Loch Fyne without having to stand up every few mins. Polarcom and Navmn pc provide instrument displays.

Has anyone used one of these outdoors? I am waiting for the seller to confirm it is indeed outdoor viewable with having to put it and my head under a black drape!!

The IP65 rating should be good enough considering it won't be left out permanently and a sheet of cling film would help in a real downpour, not that we get those in Argyll...
