Try the Adult Education depts of larger schools and 6th form colleges. I know Eastleigh college does it.

You could try www.southdowns.ac.uk. They aren't showing YM at the moment (only DS), but might be able to advise. Most courses at colleges started in September though.

best way is to go to the RYA site, and find which local colleges advertise that they are doing the course you want. Then phone round the colleges and find out if they are actually running the course, and how much it costs (will vary significantly) then make a decision based on cost and ease of transport to the college.

Most courses started in September, so may well be reluctant to allow you to start this year.

I was booked on a Yachtmaster Ocean course at Havant College that was cancelled two days before the start of the course, but managed to get a spare place at Chichester.

Fareham college does it - £75 if I recall.

The Caradon District full fee for CoSk/YM SB Theory (20 weeks) is just £57.60 + RYA teaching pack £23 and PNT at £4.40.
Come to Cornwall next year because as the drunk said to the man doing press ups - your too late, she's gone.

It's easy, join the Forces.

I did mine whilst in the Navy, not only for free, but as it was adventurous training I was paid to be there too.

Slight downside is enforced participation in President Blair's foreign adventures though.
