cheap weatherproof sounder?

I've given up trying to repair the repeater unit on my Seafarer 300. I'm going to buy a second sounder to fit on the flybridge and act as back-up to the Seafarer down below.

I'm currently looking at the Navman 3100 which is going cheap all over the place. Anyone got any thoughts on this? or other recommendations?

This is for a 30ft cruiser picking its way through shallow river waters, with the occasional off-shore trip. No very deep soundings needed. Panel mounting type sought.

I fitted an eagle fishfinder,seems to do the job,fitted sensor to a glassed in tube inside a locker,price now i think about 60-70 pounds
