That thread about crocs reminded me..

18 months ago at the Southampton boat show I bought SWMBO a pair of Dubarry sailing boots she has been as pleased as punch...

I threatened to buy some but we know I will only use them for oil changes and leave them rot in the back of the car etc...

Then one day I found a pair of these:http://www.decathlon.co.uk/juniors-winter-bootsbr-arpenaz-snow-200-purple-id_8189120.html

But in a brown colour!

They where never meant to be used on the boat but one day it was cold and SWMBO boots looked so nice and warm... They are waterproof and warm and where never meant to go on the boat, but they did not let me down...

Less than twenty quid...

I had some of those for a few years. lovely and warm
Whatever boots you use, try some thermal insoles. What a difference.

Also Merino Wool socks. The business.

Above all. Don't end up with a tight fitting boot. Plenty of room needed.
