international drive, orlando, the bass pro shop, as big as a megga tescos, everything from a rifle bullet to a garmin etrex. JRC DSC radios, usa, international and canada settings $100 at 1.77 to one about £60, little hand held vhfs, 2 in a pack $100, etrex garmins $80
was very tempted but the thought of customs and exise hassle this end stopped me
why do we get screwd over here? the etrex especially are exactly the same as the ones on sale here

Bringing electrikery to UK from US (except for VHF) is not a big problem. I purchased a plotter from Florida a cople of years ago, and paid VAT only on it when bringing it back through the airport (I declared it - sombody else didnt declare and had confiscated £3ks worth of camera gear). I have have also recently imported an aerial tuning unit for a SSB, and had to pay customs and VAT - still saved me nearly 30%.

Isn't it amazing? Did I not say in May this is the best shop in the world..?! Known to us as Outdoor World, whenever we visit my bro-in-law in Orlando it's our first shopping stop. Bought my new ICOM handheld there for equivalent of £60, as well as plenty of other bits and bobs. We're thinking of going over there to get bits to refit our new boat - and yes, it is worth it, even with the airfare...kerazy.

It's a better day out than Universal Studios (SWMBO didn't agree with me though)

Here's a link to their site <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.CFPage?appID=94&storeID=25>http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.CFPage?appID=94&storeID=25</A>
