I have seen some very cheap inflatable dinghys in the Compass Marine catalogue.

I realize you only get what you pay for,but I rarely use an inflatable and then only for short paddles across from the boat to the harbour wall.

My old one is now consigned to the skip, and the boat fund wont stretch to a genuine one this year.Does anyone have any experience of them or is it just £80 wasted?

I can recommend Compass whole heartedly.
Why... i had a capri inflateable from them and after 2 years of sitting up-side down in the sun , the bottom began to leave black marks on everything. Realising it was out of warranty, i called them to ask if there was any paint i could use to seal it.
The answer was... No problem, send it to us and we will replace it with a brand new one at no charge. They delivered a brand new dingy complete about 2 days later. Would you get that kind of service from Avon??
The guys name was Andy (something unpronounceable) but he was really helpfull.
Good luck
