i have a vhf on the bigger boat but don't have electrics on my dory so are these cheap cobra handhelds from force4 any use.
intended cruising is chi harbour and 2 miles or so out and around littlehampton and 2 miles or so out aswell and river arun/adur but i think phone signal will be ok inland.power says 1 or 3 watts

I had a brief look at them, not impressed. Also the 125 has no Channel 37/MI for club/marina contact. Bought the slightly more expensive Cobra 6 watt radio, of which I now have two, (one old HH300, one newer HH325) both work very well, older one now about 7 years old.

the 325 is only 100 new and if better qaulity and waterproof may be a better bet as a dory can get pretty wet in any kind of chop
