What fantastic service these guys give & product is pretty good too!

I have a pair of Chatham deckshoes, which are of indeterminate age, which still have a good sole & uppers. However, there seemed to be a problem with the sole stitching.

Took them back to Chatham.

No arguments, no asking for proof of purchase, just asked how old they were - truthfully answered "not a clue".

What did they do?

Give the man a new pair they said!
FOC they were!

Brilliant result, thanks guys.

My last eight pairs have been in order

Chatham, Chatham, Chatham, Musto, Chatham, Quayside, Chatham, Chatham.

I learnt my lesson the hard way "don't waste your time with anything else". I wear new pairs to work every day and old pairs on the boat.

However, I have found Chatham hard to get hold of recently, although J G of the West Country stock them.

No connection to anyone just a very satisfied Chatham customer!!

Isn't it a bit expensive to wear a new pair ervery day to work.

What size are you as I would be prepared to wear them for a second day!

On Monday I wore my new shoes.
On Tuesday I wore a pair that were 1 day old.
On Wednesday I wore a pair that were 2 days old.
On Thursday I wore a pair that were 3 days old.
On Friday I wore a pair that were 4 days old.

On Saturday I went sailing and wore a pair that were 1 year old.

Why am I wasting my time with this?

Because I'm desperately trying to pass the time till ....

So apart from the first day you always wear used chatham shoes!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Congrats on the new boat. Hope the commissioning goes OK.

Had more difficulties on the last boat than ever before!! Luckily I kept sufficient money back to be able to insist (rather than politely ask) that they did the repairs warantee work - took 18 months though in total!!

Happy sailing
