With 1.7m draught, I know that I cannot reach Dinan (max depth 1.5m), but I wonder if it is possible to stop at the Port Lyvet pontoons. Any information on depths gratefully received. And does anyone know the sill depth in the Chatelier lock?

Yes, that was the article that started me thinking - but it does not seem to give any depth information specifically about the upstream side of Chatelier. It sort of implies that there is likely to be plenty of water, but I'd like to be a bit more confident before I try to motor briskly out of the lock.

When you exit Chatelier lock, give it some stick to get through the mud bank, then there is plenty of depth, we have watched a few get stuck /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Seriously? I can just shove the keel through it? It's a pretty fat keel. I don't want to look a complete muppet/cause a traffic-jam.
