Easy.
When you get to Dover, dodge the ferries then keep the land to the right.

About halfway, theres a sodding great cliff. If you observe carefully you may see someone jumping off it.

Nothing much to hit if you stay offshore a bit, and its all deeper than 1.2m so no problem.

If you listen to VHF Ch16 just count the increasing radio checks. Its an indication you are within 20 miles of the end.

When you see a Plastic Armada whizzing about with no apparent direction, you've arrived.

For intimate personal delivery service, turn off the engine and toss a white smoke flare over the stern, then call the RNLI for a tow 'back' to Mercury. Saves on time fuel and cost of charts.

If you're interested I have a 'Shell Channel Pilot' by Tom Cunliffe, 5th edition (2006) which we bought last summer for our delivery trip from Poole to the Deben.

No intention of going back there so it's looking for a good home and is in 'as new' condition.

PM me if its of interest.

Neil
