Charts on SAT/NAV

I recently replaced my broken TomTom with a cheap Navigo unit. When I started using it I found the software was cr*p. I took the SD card out of my TomTom and with a little 'fix' it is now working fine and has transformed the unit. That got me thinking, what would happen if I put a chart/navigation card in it? Has anyone done anything like this? Is there any software available on SD cards?

I asked the same question on here about 2 weeks ago concerning the self same unit (£49 from ebuyer?) but got no responses. Give it a go and if it works, please, let me know!

Google Maptech and talk to them. They do all uk charts for £95 for PDA/car nav systems, goes on sd card via cd and pc.
Sometimes problem with lurching tom-tom software though.
Maptech very helpfil.

Do you know if any other software works? I may start using Nav software on my laptop and would like to combine it with some handheld stuff on the Navigo.
