Does anybody know if it's possible to get a tidal atlas display on my Raymarine E120 plotter. By tidal atlas I mean one of those diagrams that show you for a standard port, the direction and rate of tide springs/neaps for a given point after high water.

I know I can get a single 'at the boat' tidal vector, but wondered if a whole map of vectors could be displayed.

Given it's entirely deterministic and all the variables are known - I was hoping this neat feature might be there. I could definitely ditch the almanac then (only joking)

thanks,

LWR

yes - if you hover over any point hit enter it will say "find nearest" and a list comes up including tide stations.

Thanks. I understand that will give me a tide table for the area, but it's not the map of tidal streams - many arrows on the chart showing direction and speed of tide. Am I wrong?

yes.... you can animate the tides each hour

Aidy - could you elucidate on how I would do this, please? Many thanks!

One of the options in the 'soft menus' at the bottom of the screen is marked 'Animations'. Follow this option and you should find youre way to it.
