Hi. I am delivering a boat to Brundall this week from Hull if the weather is okay. I cannot find a chartlet from Great Yarmouth to Brundall with bridges and channel information etc.Has anyone a suggestion where I can purchase or download one? Thank you.

You won't need a chart from Gt Yarmouth to Brundall, you will need to contact Eastport and book bridge lifts for Haven & Breydon bridges, Breydon water is marked by posts, Reedham is opened on request using Chanel 12

http://www.eastportuk.co.uk/marine has the contact information

I think that Breydon Bridge isn't operational at the moment....problem with hydraulics apparently. There has been a bit of a stink in the local boaty media. I would suggest a conversation with Gt Yarmoutn port control....you may get under at low tide but it will obviously depend upon your min air draft. The Haven bridge is working as far as I know.

Mutford lock is also out of action but they are (I think) doing hand operation by appointment so worth ringing Oulton Broad Yacth station if Breydon is a non-starter

Thanks Aquapower and Greg 2. I have spoken with Breydon bridge and now back in operation. Are the posts quite close apart on Breydon water? Is depth a problem in the river after Breydon water? Never been on the broads so any advice appreciated.

Posts are well placed to know where your going, its fairly foolproof to account for the many hire boats that pass through every week in the summer, Breydon bridge was fixed this week, not sure what day but is now fully working again. This route is way simpler than Mutford lock. Depth shouldn't be a problem for you at any state of tide as long as you stick to the marked channel on Breydon and don't get too close to side of rivers.
If you wish to discuss any local info then please pm me and will give you my tel. no.

An ordnance survey map will be more use than a chart!

You will have plenty of water in the middle of the river (and the clearly marked channel across Breydon Water), just near the banks you (e.g. when mooring) will need to keep an eye out.

Note that you must book the bridge lift at Gt. Yarmouth during working hours at least 24 hours ahead. Avoid if at all possible having to stay overnight in Great Yarmouth (downstream of Haven Bridge).

Thanks for everyone's help. Set off yesterday morning at 0600 from Hull. Apart from rough bit crossing wash had a decent passage. Arrived Gt Yarmouth at 1100 and Brundall 1600. The bridge port authority at G Yarmouth and bridge masters on route very friendly and helpful. Hopefully bringing new boat out in May so return passage should be more fly bridge friendly weather wise. Again thanks for feedback and help.
Brgds
