That was Maslinica on the island of Solta. We were berthed in Marina Frapa http://www.marinafrapa.com/en/ at Rogoznica (now that was a posh marina) for 4 seasons. There are just too many beautiful islands, anchorages and bays to visit in Croatia to sum in one forum post. All I can say is just go there and enjoy itWent into a very posh marina near split with Deleted User and got the biggest bill of about €75 for the night.
Korcula Town is well worth a visit but be especially aware of any Bora forecast there because it whistles down the channel between Korcula and the mainland. Vis is also very pretty and worth cruising too and if you have time Zakloplatica on Lastovo is very pretty as wellThinking about heading further south this year to get over to Korcula, or up to Sibnek. B
+1 to all that, and I would include Mljet among the gems of that area, not much further S.Korcula Town is well worth a visit but be especially aware of any Bora forecast there because it whistles down the channel between Korcula and the mainland. Easily the best snorkeling spot of the whole HR archipelago, if not the best in the whole Adriatic.
I'm very much looking fwd to swimming there again next summer, during my delivery trip!![]()
Any suggestions or thoughts as to retirement in Croatia...? We're considering it, but unsure where or if to buy a small house on an island to compliment a liveaboard during the summer months? We had originally considered Italy but love Croatia so much we've started to change our mind.
Urgh, that hurts!Bad news for the snorkling P,
I'm afraid this is not possible anymore
IMHO the problem with retiring in Croatia is the winter which can be pretty cold and rainy affected as it is by the continental climate of E Europe. Also I agree with Bart. The locals can be seem a bit surly but that's a hangover from the communist period and I'm sure they're not actually unfriendly. Croatia is great between May and Oct but I'm not sure I'd want to live there outside that periodAny suggestions or thoughts as to retirement in Croatia...?
