Charter recommendations Athens or thereabouts?

Trying to find a cheap last-minute option for chartering in Greece at the beginning of July - can anyone recommend a charter company based out of/near Athens? Am a bit nervous of trying local ones on spec so all help very much appreciated.

You would probably be better off using agents in this country rather than going direct to the operators. All the major operators have representatives here. Look on the charter pages of this site.

You can do worse than Sailing Holidays. Long established, friendly and bases within 2 hours of Athens. I've chartered with them before and am taking the easy option this year of taking the family on flotilla with them, not least as they don't mind you wandering off on your own if you're competent. They have stuff in Ionian and Saronic areas and this time of year usually have deals.

we used LateSail a few years ago. I can't remember the name of the charter company they were agents on behalf of (it was a smallish local company), but we got a real bargain and the boat was fine.

Many thanks for the recommendations. I tried Sailing Holidays but they only had pricier boats left, & while I was waiting to hear back from Latesail I got a great deal in the Ionian inc flights with Nautilus (was looking at Athens because no flights elsewhere).

Great to know about the agents, tho, I had no idea there were such places.
