what do you want to know excatly, mallorca certainly has a lot of charter companys that cover most corners of the market so it could be very hard to ensure buiness. if you intend to skipper your charter boat i belive that the spainish police can get a little problematic with owners skippering their charter boats on british flag.

I'd guess the majority of boats around that island are chartered.
Sunsail have a big base with over 100 boats in Palma.
Once round the Baleares was enough for me - the pits of the W Med.

Yes, mostly, so do I. Some of it indeed the pits, but most it by far is quite unspoiled, hardly surprising that so many have hols there. Very popular for charter, in august you could proably rent out a bathtub and i think some do! You need an agent to handlle things down there, look in the appropriate mag I think, find the mkost atytrcative boats and off you go. The boats usualy end up needing a good clean. The agent should get paid in full plus deposit before the start of the charter. No idea of the legality of the charters, often dubious and sometimes in cash, some charterers are instructed to say they are not charting he boat but that it beongs to a friend, hence no charter regs!
