thats my boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try yacht charter section on the holiday tab above.

If as you say you are novice sailors & your looking for a 2 week cruise, try a flotilla for your first time, you will get a lead boat and someone always on call to help out. For two couples you want to look at a 34' or above.

That time of year it will be hot in Greece or Turkey so to be a bit more comfortable I would look at say Croaita or Italy.
Lots of companies around, pick up Yachting monthly and have a look at the charter & sailing hols. section.
Quite a few of the companies now want some sort of qualification, RYA dayskipper being the minimum, why not get on a theory course over the winter & then do a practical in april/may, it will be a great boost to your confidence as well.

Whatever you decide ...... do it..... it really is one of the greatest hols you can have!
We go with a great group almost every year in late Sept/Oct. and have a ball.

Good luck
welcome to the forum.

if you are novices i would start with a flotilla. it maybe that you get back into swing easily and then feel constrained
in part depends how long you want
in the med sunsail are the biggest and have a vast array of boats to choose from
theree is always a lead boat or a base nearby
i think they do 2 week flots in croatia and the rest in med are one week altho they may do a 2 week flot out of vounaki. get the brochure is your best bet

sailing holidays do do 2 week flots in the ionian but to be fair their boats are a lot older and in general smaller than the sunsail boats

for braver/ more experienced novices you can always try a one week flot and then maybe a week bareboat. you can always hook up with a nearby flotilla ( i am talking sunsail here) if you feel confidence waning and want some security and then skeedaddle again if you get bored. a friend of my wife did this the week we were out this year

another company that has expanded loads was neilson. i was in ionian this year for first time in four years and they had boats everywhere. so they may be worth checking out.

i met a guy who has a skippered cat for charter in the med pm me for his detaills.

if you go the med in june in, say ionian, you will probably end up practicing your motoring more than your sailing anyway

We went with Nielson to the Ionian last year and would thoroughly recommend them. About 25% less than Sunsail, for almost the same package.

Their villa-flotilla allows you to spend one week in a small hotel, and undertake a choice of training courses, prior to the second week on board. The training ranges from an Intro for novices, to a BrushUp to help you learn their mooring techniques etc.

If two couples, I'd go for one of their Benny 361's, or 331 , rather than anything smaller.

There is quite a short distance between ports, but we went off and did our own thing very easily.

Hope you have a good time!

I just got back (well, september actually) from a great bit of sailing in the Gulf of Napels: departing from Puzzuoli, sailing to Capri, Ischia and Napels. Great outfit: http://www.cataboat.it
Taking the Ryanair to Rome, then high speed train to Napels (which I bood through the internet). The charter company picked us up at the railwaystation and dropped us back off afterwards.
Friendly bunch, good briefing (which is always a good sign), well equiped boat.
The area is easy to navigate, allthough we did a lot under engine due to not enough wind. But the scenery is spectacular.
Took in two days of Rome as well. Napels is worse than Moss Eisly (for the Star Wars fans, this one), so never mind.

LateSail.Com They seem to be an aggregator of unsold charters for cheap last minute deals. I used them a couple of years ago for a charter from Athens and was a bit worried about doing it all over the internet, etc. but it was a brilliant holiday.
