I made a raft from two 6m lengths of 150mm drain, with a simple ply bridge and seat, oars and rowlocks. It went like the clappers. Took it up the river later, a chap passing by in a yacht said, in very plummy tones "Oh, my brother made something very like that, so you needn't think you're unique". Son was lost for words fortunately.

i can get quite cross about that sort of thing.

Ah guess he has asked for a Female crew to accompany him on his escapades afloat ?

Good on him, just shows you do not need to go to a Boat Show or Marina to 'get afloat' , mind you, for the East Coast amoungst us, it puts Andy S into another catagory for sure, bet he would not entertain it on his showgrounds at Woodbridge ? {:)#
