Charging of 12V engine battery

Hi, I have my 12V engine start battery at home for winter. Does it matter what size battery charger I use to re-charge it periodically, ie, is a 4amp charger better than a 20Amp charger for this type of battery, would appreciate any comments regarding storage and the charging of thse batteries.

all chargers will when almost @ terminal volts will " Float Charge " @ very low amps

The ideal situation is where a battery can be cycled, ie, charged and slowly discharged, but not flattened. With storage, keep the battery from getting cold. The best way to do this is to place a sheet of styrene foam or plywood under the battery to keep it off a concrete floor. You can get more details by talking to a battery dealer; a proper one, not the kid at the Speed Shop.
