We have a 10hp Mariner Magnum non electric start two stroke outboard (age unknown). In the booklet it says ' manual start alternator models are equipped with a 60 watt alternator.' OK so 1. how do I know if this one has an alternator. 2. should there be a connector somewhere. 3. If not how do I connect my battery leads to it? Thanks Daveb.

Are you sure?

Normally it's the electric start models that are equiped with a decent alternator.

Manual start O/B's of yesteryear had a simple lighting coil - yup to light the lights.
