Does anyone own or know of a Chaparral 256 SSI bowrider that is located in the South East..... I'm hoping to view and discuss one locally before placing an order for either the Chaparral or Regal 2700 but at the moment my only option seems to be a 10/12 hour round trip to Wales.

Thank you C_Playa. That layout sort of "broke the bank" for me. I got lazy and made my later boat show reviews simpler.

Keep in mind that the MC in that report was twin engine. Which really jacked the price up. But even a "normal" MC will usually be priced a little higher than Cobalt and Sea Ray the same size. Boston Whaler, Chris-Craft, Cobalt, Correct Craft, Eliminator, and MC are pretty much the elite of small boats in the US.

Thanks very much for the information and prompt response....Given the lack of owners coming forward I guess that the 256 SSI is not very popular in the South East of the UK. Hopefully I will locate one shortly. Thanks again.....

"Big" bowriders are not popular in the UK full stop.

What Solitaire said is actually true for the USA market as well. In that particular size center consoles, deckboats, mid-cabin cruisers, pontoons, and walkaround types are more popular here. These big bowriders are most often found on the bigger inland lakes, where short chop can get severe.
