Hi, I'm planning a trip to CI's in 2 weeks and I'm interested in mooring off Sark for a night or two.
Does anyone know if the Mooring Buoys are still there and whats availability like?
I really want to avoid anchoring as I don't have a windlass, so anchoring anywhere with a decent tidal range means very sore arms :disgust: !
Thanks in advance!

Stated at Havre Gosselin a couple of years ago. There is an honesty box in the village which is quite a nice walk, bit of a climb up out of the harbour though! I picked a lovely evening first time and it was a stunning spot to stay at but came back a few days later and there was quite a swell in not that much of a breeze. Definitely worth a try.

I always end up in Dixcart, as I like the menu at Dixcart and the walk up is supposed to be good for me?? I am told..
The holding in Dixcart is good, but beware the tide range and direction can be deceptive, landing interesting, and all sorts of boats swinging on chain , rope, of various weights and lengths,so can be challenging.
I once returned to my boat to find my SWIMBO threatening a CI 22 owner with a boathook, as he had drifted into us for the third time, ruining her afternoon of sunbathing..
She likes to be involved..

Sark always seems to have a swell in all weather conditions and all directions, good luck if you think you can sleep well at anchor or on a mooring in a bay there.

Great advise thanks.
I'll sleep better on a mooring; sleeping at anchor with the CQR always worries me! Sure the Mrs will consume a sufficient amount of medicinal Captain Morgans for a good nights kip :encouragement:
