Is there anyone here in a position to know how the restrictions on visitors are being applied in the Channel Islands?

The States website says visitors (including visiting yachts) must self-isolate for 14 days. Does this mean anchor off for 14 days, moor up in marina but not leave the boat, moor up and not leave the boat except for essential reasons?

Anyone with personal knowledge?

Thanks

The principal instruction is to avoid unnecessary travel. I’d therefore not be setting off for the islands until that advice is reversed.
As for self isolation, this is from the Jersey government website:

”Self-isolation or isolation however is quite different – it requires you to avoid any contact with others and to remain in a physically isolated space so that you cannot transmit infection to others.”

Taken at face value, you’d be expected to remain in your boat for 14 days, either at anchor or in the marina, unless you’ve arranged for somewhere ashore to self isolate. Reading round the rules, they’re predicated on individuals arriving and immediately transferring to land based accommodation for self isolation. There‘s a one hour period where an arrival is allowed to use public transport before entering their 14 days of quarantine.

Similar in Guernsey.
If you are not self-isolating travel within the Bailiwick is not restricted.

We have had 273 samples tested, with 2 positive results (both returning islanders), 156 negative results, and 115 results awaited from the UK.
On-island analysis of tests is being set up to reduce the time to get results.

It’s the same in the Isle of Man. 2 week quarantine on arriving. Can be in your house if you have one to go to I believe.
