I shell appreciate your oppinion about following:
I change old Alu prop on Volvo Saildrive 120 with new bronze. Alu prop was model for casting of new one. This new bronze have almost double weight and I am little affraid that this can make damage of shaft on higher REVs.Am I in right or there are no reason for fright ?

Yes David is correct, once its spinning its mass is not so important but engaging gear is the time of most concern. We have a Brunton Autoprop and its a real heavy weight, so much so that it has a central rubber section to absorb the strain as it goes into gear. But the prop manufacturers usually know best, if they say its OK (I'd ask them) then best to believe them.

No problems with changing as you suggest. I changed mine from the 2 blade ally to a 3 blade folding prop last season. You must ensure good protection with correct anodes. When I had the ally prop my anode on the saildrive hardly eroded. I now have the same anode plus a 3 part ring anode and it had to be replaced halfway through the season. You must check it periodically or risk damaging your new prop.

Regards.

Peter.
