Changed Hurth HBW100 for ZF10M 2R. Very noisy!

Just changed my Hurth HBW100 for a new ZF 10M 2R. Also fitted new R&D drive plate. The new box is noisier and makes quite a loud clack when going into gear.( Both ahead and astern). The old Hurth made a soft clunk. Has anyone else had this problem or do I have a faulty gearbox.

A loud clack usually is a sign of proper gear engagement. I did replace in the past an old and completely shot ms10 with a zf10. The new unit makes a loud clack both forward and reverse and works just fine.
