My mobo has the 6cyl 170HP Volvo Penta AQ170 .... with 3 huge carburettors .....

Wondering if anyone ever converted to injection and if its actually possible. Would there be any fuel consumption advantage ?

The engine is of course from the Volvo 164 car family - which did have injection option ...

It sounds like a lot of work, and potentially using a very old system - 1970’s? - could be a lot more problematic than what you currently have tbh (IMHO of course)

There are electronic fuel injection kits for classic cars. They seem to be around £1,500 per engine. Don't know how well it would work o a boat.
