Chandlers Yacht back in UK

I'm terrified that someone as ignorant as you can vote. I've said for years that the cote should be accompanied by a simple general knowledge test.

You're terrified of me voting
Guess what - they let me have guns at work
****ting yourself already? :D

Let me explain. A prisoner serving a lengthy prison sentence in the EU who doesn't have a relatively safe country to go back to is pretty likely (certain?) to get EU residency at the end of their sentence.

Funny that - the French just deport them after sentence. Does not have to be the country of origin. Anywhere relatively safe nearby will do. Kenya springs to mind.
Maybe the French are in a different kind of EU.

I really don't want to be living next to a Somali Pirate in 15 years time.

And why not? According to statements you made earlier they hardly ever hurt or kill people.
Do I detect certain racist undertones?

Orbie, I was trying to be subtle - I took your opinions to extremes that you haven't claimed at all in attempt to prove a point that it isn't a reasonable way to debate - it's sort of worked in that you've objected to what I've written as being unreasonable.

Note that I do understand and appreciate your viewpoint - I just don't agree with it.

A newspaper article is not the uncontested truth so I wouldn't really say that the article says it all.
One thing that is perplexing and totally unclear in the article is that the drawing (map) says on step (1) that the Chandlers were transferred to the pirates speed boats on October 23. They were then supposedly again transferred from their yacht on October 28 in the dark with Wave Knight looking on. Hmm, so the pirates actually brought them back to Lynn Rival for a few days???

toad oftoadhall

Toad oftoadhall All though all three thread about these couple and the pirates all you done is try and justify why the chandlers shouldn’t had been helped , defending RN and what they did , every time someone said something not to your liking in you jump to bully them to keeping silence ,and now your going on about you don’t want the pirates arrested in case they maybe living next door to you in 15 years time .. to honest I’m getting fed up hearing your c**p , each week that go by we hear more and more how the RN and the British government are letting seamen down , standing by and doing nothing . And it wouldn’t surprise me that in weeks to come a lot more will be un covered .
So do us all a favour , give it a rest .

Not Foolish Brave

It was impossible as I understand it to 'rescue' somewhat foolish Brits from people with weapons who might have killed them... Far better to wait for a political solution...

"It was impossible as I understand it to 'rescue' somewhat foolish Brits from people with weapons who might have killed them... Far better to wait for a political solution... "

What 'special' information, do you have, to state "as I understand it"?
Why is it not available to the rest of us?
Calling them foolish Brits, your obviously not seafearers there are many dangers at sea you try to reduce risk but you cannot Eliminate the risks, following your direction of thought nobody should go to sea. (Titanic) If you become in a position of requiring assistance when in Grave and Imminant Danger you send out a Mayday and any Seafearer who is able will try thier best to assist It is the way it has been since I can remember, this didn't happen in this case, I will certainly look at the British Autorities Boats with a wonder of would they repy to a Mayday and do thier best to rescue..... Rely on a Political solution, you really are on a different Planet,

Don't think I have called them "foolish Brits" or advocated "a Political solution"!

Where have you got that from?

Their was a piece in the Times today quoting some Admiral - saying that the RFA did b#gger all because they could not 100% guarantee the safety of the Chandlers and that inaction was within the ROE (no sh#t ).

I wonder what percentage guarantee they have now, and what they deemed the percentage to be at the time?
