Chandlers in London

The only chandler I know in London is Ocean Leisure at the bottom of Northumberland Avenue, on the embankment. Depends what you're looking for, but IMHO they are overweight in the clothing dept and underweightin the useful things. Good selection of books though.

The only real chandler left in central London is Arthur Beale at the top of Shaftesbury Avenue. Have dispatched SHWMBO off to puchase some epoxy and shock cord today (Sounds rather kinky!)

Yes sadly few left... if ever down on the Medway try Gillingham Marina Chandlers or Pirates Cave,, or nearer London at Bexley, near Danson Park, I have found Danson marine very helful.....they spent ages rooting around in a box of bits to find me a single hinge.

There was one in Artillery Lane off Bishopsgate near the Bishopsgate entrance to Liverpool Street Station. It was there a couple of years ago and had a fair stock of useful stuff. Prices as usual, through the roof, but was handy as it was on the way home from work. Whatever that was. Been retired (early) five years!

That was London Yacht Centre. They were part of the group that went bust. More than 2 years ago I think though.

Ah! How time flies when you don't have to work for an ungrateful employer. (That is the polite version). Must be over two years then since I have been in The City. and thank heavens for that!
