Chandlers in LA

This is a bit of a long shot, but can anyone recommend a chandlers in the LA area?

I went to one of their Marina Del Ray stores this year and was not very impressed with its contents. Was after some charts - staff not very welcoming nor cooperative.
Perhaps it was my accent /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Have a look at Boaters World, They are a chain and have places all over the USA.

They list 6 stores in the LA area and I have purchased stuff there when visiting on Business and they seem to stock most stuff.

That's more than I managed this summer. Marina Del Rey is one of the biggest marinas in the world and I couldnt find a chandlers!

There's a massive one alongside the Del Rey marina. They sold stuff we had never seen elsewhere (three years ago), like Spade anchors! I bought a pair of bifocal sunglasses there, +1.5 for close-up, reading, etc and clear for long distance. Only pair I have ever seen.

Yes, I've been to the Westmarine, Marina Del Rey and got all the stuff I needed (before BA started charging extra baggage/overweight baggage.....). If I know I need particular stuff, I generally call them to make sure they have it, OR get them to arrange for it to be there when I arrive.

I had great difficulty in finding one as well - locals either didn't understand my accent or else the word "chandlery" - ok once I said "boatstore" /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
