Westerly Conway Sloop - having new rigging made and the rigger who visited the boat today said that the angle (chamfer?) on the chanplates on the starboard side, fore and aft are not the same angle as port. Port is more of (greater) an angle.

He suggested that I had chainplates made all to the same angle as the port side. I was thinking of having new made anyway, belt and braces etc.

What do people think - should they (fore and aft) be the same angle on both sides?

Thanks,

Simon

The angles should be the same on port and starboard surely? But those for the cap shrouds will be a different angle to those for the lowers.

Have a look at Trafalgar Yacht Services website. They may stock them.
