Chafe Guard

Depends on what you are trying to protect. You may well find a solid stainless steel one that screws down will work. They are available in different fixed lengths. Alternatively you can buy lengths of either brass or stainless half round which you can cut to length and attach with screws. with a bit of imagination either of these will do most jobs.

Those stick on ones are expensive partly because I think there is only one maker. Don't think they have really caught on and I have seen them come unstuck leaving a sharp bit sticking up.

I have some mirror-polished stainless sheet in 0.8mm and I'd like to try it in this role. Any suggestions regarding what powerful, quick-set adhesive might do the job?

I like 3M VHB double sided tape. It’s a little bit thick but it’s instant and so powerful it’s hard to believe. It’s good for steel but not absolutely sure about ss

I was getting some wear on the cockpit coaming where the roller reefing line rubbed. I cut some copper pipe lengthwise and epoxied it in place. It was nice and malleable, and with help of a rubber mallet fitted well.
Thinking of doing something similar for where the springs cross the toenail; need a larger diameter tube though.
