Got a 20 year old model 737. Coming back from Brittany when I switched it on it went over to full lock on one side then gives an error report which translates as 'rudder amplifier error - serious hardware fault call in an engineer'.
Well, if necessary I will call in the specialists but just wondered if it could be something I could sort out readily with just a bit more info. Thinking back it has occassionally happened before at start up but then the box of tricks sorted itself out -maybe this was earlier signs of the problem developing.
For reference the rudder feedback seems to be operating - the device still knows where the rudder is pointing and the compass is OK too. There are no contacts for the motor, it is a solid-state arrangement
Anyone any thoughts?
