please help i have been asked to install a boiler on a converted fishing boat. the customer wanted a oil boiler converted for diesel and a hot water tank. nut i am limited for space so i am thinking of a mikuni type system with a calorifyer. ant advise would be great.

Look at Eberspacher water heater with matrix radiators. The matrix radiators are small heat exchangers with fans and if you have room can be replaced with domestic rads on a boat like this, but the water heater itself is definitely the way to go on a boat.

Mikuni are -

Great. I've had one for years and I abuse it (fuel starvation mainly). But it still works. There are -apparent - horror stories about Ebers. The guys who import Mikunis over here are helpful, whereas Eberspachers seem to be sold by dealers...

Whatever make you choose a wet system works the best if you have the space for pipework and radiators / matrices.
