A late friend was a navigator in mtbs. during WW2. He told me that he had to calculate EP and CTS every 6 minutes as the boats were so fast. OK for him as he was reading maths at University when he got called up.

Every six mins on a fast motor boat is easy peasy as its 1/10th of an hour. That's how I've always done it at 20 knots.
