I,ve just brought a centaflex kd em 127 k-1.0 coupling off ebay. But its arrived with out instructions re the torque settings, also the bolts as supplied seem far to long. I wont screw em in just incase their wrong and it ruins the new coupling
Does any one have the info, centa's web site has dimensions and fancy pictures but not the nitty gritty stuff
I'm fitting it to try and eradicate the wobbly yanmar 2qm15 I've fitted new vetus engine mounts but these yanmars thud about ! hence fitting a centaflex

cheers

Hear hear pcuk . I'm always surprised when someone asks a question like this inviting replies from any random person who may or may not know what they are talking about. Pick up the phone and ask the manufacturer! Same applies to connecting electrical gadgets together. Are we all scared of talking to a person and expect all information to be published on a website somewhere? Sorry to rant.
The only cases when the above doesn't apply is when the manufacturer no longer exists.

I tried to find the uk based supplier and then went through the usa web site who got back to me with err nout
Big problem these days with companies not having the man to talk to ! back when I were a lad you could talk to the man and get the information
This country has no skill base no manufacturing base and no bloke to ask
but now I expect some more spouting off should have done this or that strange how many sit there waiting for the chance to spout off without adding anything
Georgio helped me with this

Quite.

The clamping pressure is not great. Fasten the bolts using strong hand pressure from a standard spanner, moving from one side to the other to tighten evenly; and you shuld be ok. Ensure the shaft and bore are free from grease. That is all I do with mine.

Like Georgio my stuff is not to hand.

Beware the long bolts may have been supplied to force off the taper when removing the coupling - they are designed to go into the holes between the clamping bolts - if remember correctly they are larger and mybe 10mm.

Good point - I had forgotten that, make sure you are putting the bolts supplied into the correct "tightening up" holes and not the "releasing" holes, mine was supplied with little covers over the "releasing" holes to make it clear. If your bolts seem too long I would check that you are using the correct holes.

"Centa has dedicated staff ready to help solve your mechanical power transmissions problems. Call 01274 531034 now and ask to put in contact with one of our specialist engineers or a member of the sales team."
Seems a likely source of information. They are based in West Yorkshire so I don't see how you were routed to a USA website.
