I notice in YM they say Cawsand Devon, must admit I always thought of that side as Cornwall .. am I right or are they wrong?

They don't like emmets down in Cornwall, Jimi. Cawsand is a terrible place - to be avoided by AWBs - recommend you try some of the restaurants more suitable to Ben/Jens across the channel /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

before the current boundary was set, a bit of devon spilled across onto our side. the old boundary ran down between kingsand (devon) and cawsand (cornwall). there is a pub called the halfway house which sits at the old boundary and there is a mark on a stone in the wall opposite to show where it was.

the boundary is now down the centre of the river which is much more defensible.

have you noticed that there are one-way tolls as you cross the tamar? you only have to pay to get out of cornwall, unlike the severn bridges where you have to pay to get into wales. what does that tell you?

Tell you what Jimi - I'm sure I can get full agreement from the whole population of the W Country to send you and your Solent chums the entire output of Ginsters pasties for the next year ! Anyone every tasted one ?

only thing in the world that makes a Big Mac seem tasty. Mind you, you can't expect much from a product that comes from Callington. Only good view of that place is the one in your rear-view mirror.

Hm! That's gratitude for you. Callington is the second line of defence (after Gunnislake) against the English. As for Ginsters pasties - Phew! I have to smell the factory nearly every day as I go into town. Still, it brings lots of lurvely spondoolix to the Duchy and provides employment for hundreds of local people.

I have often wondered why the drivers round here are never looking through the windscreen. If Callington is such an awful place I wish people would stop going to/from it. It's getting impossible for us to get out on to the main road; but I see the A388 is going to be closed soon.
