I have a 1800 bmc engine fitted with a cav fuel injection system.it was sabotaged and the fuel pipes stolen.l need to buy 3mts.of copper pipe with olives and screws. The problem I am having is the boat is in Africa and I am in uk collecting parts.
I have been told the copper pipe is either 5/16 or 1/4 inch I even give the engine no 4030 .one firm said they can order the part, but still cannot give me the size ! ? !
going back soon getting desperate, any ideas plese ?

Not sure about the size but you used to be able to get emergency repair injector pipes, that already had ends fitted and you just bent them roughly to shape to get you home.
As for copper forget it.
Most are/were 17mm spanner size, not sure on thread but dont think things have changed to much on that side for many years.

Our local diesel guy made two up for us. We just took the old ones in, had a coffee and a natter and for 20 squid he made them there and then. Any decent garage or possibly hydraulics place, should be able to make them. Must be somewhere near the boat that can do it?
