Does anyone know why I am unable to get a good connection to my cav filter using 8mm copper and olives. Is there a adapter to connect 8mm into a cav filter. I am fitting a new Beta with 8mm fuel lines. Has anyone come across this before?

[/ QUOTE ] Yes last week. On investigation the two blanking plugs and the top drain had mangled copper washers that didn't seal. Ended up using PFTE tape to get an air tight seal. Not happy because it was a new filter.

Simple - its a crap system that has problems if over tightened. Throw it away and get a racor one from ASAP.

original fitting is unc not bsp but there is a metric option

the whole system is mix and match so its viable to replace damaged bits rather than put up with leaks and the problems they will cause
speak to your local lucas outlet or asap and ask for a leaflet on them

I have a polybarbonate bowl with my racor (which cant be smashed so easily) it also has a priming pump and much easier filter changes (i.e. you dont spill a cupfull of diesel each time.
