Spotted the river up at Weybridge as my 'beer boat' at the bottom of the garden normally invisible from the house sitting in 2ft of water was level with the decking.
Popped down to the marina:eek: River rose 3 ft overnight at Thames Ditton as the high spring tide backed up the heavy flow coming down the Thames. Numerous boats in the marina found at odd angles including mine; stern rope had to be cut to release. Still should have known better and left more slack on the ropes. Although not tidal being just above Tedders, its not just the increased flow that is important but the high spring tides as well.
Now about to splice a new eye and dream of floating pontoons.:)

Sorry not ..........

.....familiar with this concept...a big tide... we get them all the time..
......and what exactly is a lock closure and why should it stop you boating
........sorry forgotton of course your all on bit of water only usable for a few days summer boating every year :)

Are you mad - take our boats out in the muddy water.

Leave Him Alone

I'm with Fred on this one.....

The water rose about 6.5M last evening, another 1.5m and it will be about the same again in a couple of hours.

Historic Dockyard, for those that don't know.
Locks,eh? I'll go and get me handle.......

If the Medway was so muddy, how come we see so many mullet, sea bass, herring, seals, cormorants, herons etc?

Not just the merdeway that has loads of herons, seals , cormorants etc

We have all those a plenty too , along with salmon , swans , kingfishers and otters ....

Fred likes the Royal River Thames as well , he told me so ;)

Because they're all floating on top? :D

Along with all the old tyres, settees, traffic cones and depressingly large numbers of Evian bottles !

..... that have floated in from the Thames......
We don't drink Evian on the Medway, eh Fred? Could only come from the poncey upper reaches of the Thames.
50 shades of Evian Bray....
Mest be the very high tides we're experiencing at the mo'
