The northern branches of the family have decided to invest in a dazed kipper/yottymistress sail training week for SWMBO as a christmas present for herself....and Catima? Catina based at Largs has been suggested. (The availability of Ryanair @ Prestwick Helps).Would any of our scots cousins care to make any comments..negative or positive. Thanks

When I was investigating courses this summer Iain Anderson was one of the few who responded to my enquiries, rang me from his mobile at the end of the days teaching and was happy to go through all my questions and made some good suggestions on what to do and when - even if some of it cost him money.

Will be booking with him in the spring.

Can't comment on the school you mentioned, but a few years ago we did, variously, dinghy courses, basic training, day skipper, VHF/DSC, and diesel courses at the Scottish National Watersports Centre on Cumbrae - 10 minutes on the ferry from Largs.

First class, IMHO.

Think you will find Ian does a good job( for an ex policeman!!) with loads of experiance!!!..and the company yachts are kept in good shape, see him out on the Clyde most of the Summer, never seen him keelhaul anyone yet!!
